The Sala Dalí of the Instituto Cervantes in Roma and La Casa di Conversazione at the Town Hall of Lanciano hosted the presentations of the project “European Itineraries of Roma Cultural Heritage (ROMHERITAGE)”, in Italy on October 2nd and 4th, 2023.
The participants in the events were Ignacio Peyró, Director of Instituto Cervantes in Rome; Santino Spinelli, President of Associazione Thèm Romano; Fabián Sánchez, President of Asociación Nacional Presencia Gitana; Mattia Peradotto. UNAR Coordinator (Ufficio Nazionale Antidiscriminazioni Razziali) – Presidency of the Consiglio dei Ministri, Italy; Roberta Alberotanza (Former President of the Culture Committee of the Council of Europe. Coordinator of the Cultural Itineraries Section); Filippo Paolini, Mayor of Lanciano (Chieti); Luca Praitano, Municipal council of the Comune of Campobasso; Normunds Rudevics, President of the International Romani Union; Štefan Simončič, president of EPEKA Slovenia; Gennaro Spinelli, President of UCRI (Unione delle Comunità Romanès) in Italia; Daniela de Rentiis, Coordinator of Associazione Thèm Romano and Gonzalo Montaño, Project manager of Presencia Gitana.
In addition to the presentation of the project and the itineraries, the events included a round table on Spanish and Italian Romani culture, and musical performances by Alexian Group and Evedise Spinelli.
The members of the project also visited the monument to the Samudaripen, located at the Parco delle Memorie in Lanciano, which will be an important stage of the Italian Itinerary of Roma Cultural Heritage.
