The Center for Cultural Initiatives of the University of Seville (CICUS) hosted the presentation of the project “European Itineraries of Roma Cultural Heritage (ROMHERITAGE)”, on May 24th, 2024.

The participants in the presentation were Fabián Sánchez (President of Presencia Gitana and Project manager of ROMHERITAGE), Gonzalo Montaño (Coordinator in Spain of ROMHERITAGE), Carolina Fenoll (National Contact Point of Creative Europe in Spain; European Citizenship Point of the CERV Program – Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values ​​- Ministry of Culture), Timea Junghaus (Executive Director of ERIAC) and Carmen Santiago (Kamira/State Council of Roma People).

The Presentation was part of the Seminar “Flamenco in the 21st Century”, organized on May 24, 25 and 26, 2024 at the University of Seville by Asociación Nacional Presencia Gitana and the Asociación Flamenco Siglo XXI, in collaboration with ERIAC and Kamira and co-financed by the European Union.

During the 3 days of the Seminar in Seville (a city that is an important stop on the European Itineraries of Roma Cultural Heritage), conferences, round tables, shows, workshops offered by Roma artists and a tribute to historical flamenco masters were held. Among the participants, we can highlight several Roma artists such as Tomatito (6-time Grammy winner), Vicente Soto “Sordera” (National Flamenco Award 2023), Esperanza Fernández, Juan Carmona from Ketama or the dancer Pastora Galván.
